As a review from the previous week, we will revisit the youtube video of The Cat Came Back and a short story Counting with Tiny Cat by Viviane Schwartz. The theme for the 6th of the month of September is fairy tales, more specifically those written by Hans Christian Anderson. The first is a retelling of The Princess and the Pea, illustrated by Dorothee Duntze. Copyright date 1984, while the book is dated; the story and illustrations are timeless. The illustrations, elaborate and engaging are captured digitally and projected onto the wall. Renaissance period music will be demonstrated for the children. The second story; The Emporer’s New Clothes, teaches an invaluable allegory for children to see people and things with their own eyes rather than going along in consensus with others. In keeping with our goals of educating parents about digital resources for children, caregivers will be introduced to World Book Online, how to access it, and how to use their library cards to find fairy tales and songs for young children.
